In october 2006 we took a two week tour with Visit Mada tours including the South Tour and had the perfect trip. Benjamin adapted the tour to our needs and all the things agreed with our expectations. Our driver Dinah (sorry if the spelling is wrong) did the best job - always focusing on our needs, driving with care and telling original, personal stories. Since it is so difficult to find a reliable tour company on the internet, we want to give our full support to benjamin and the employees at visit mada tours. Even to hardened African travellers, madagascar is a hard country to organise tours in. Many times the guide books are not updated (even the latest versions); the emails do not work ("address unknown") or the emails do not get any reply at all. Some replies arrive, but in french, of which my knowledge is limited. We found Come-Mada tours through one of the multiple internet searches we conducted when we were planning our trip last year, a one month trip though September into october 2006. His web site is informative, and the emails are always responded to very promptly, often in hours, and in good English. The tours offered are a good selection of those availible in Madagascar, now even hinting at Masoala. We ended up doing Three of out four tours with Come-mada East to perinet and onto Tamatave, (very recomended, west to morandava (Tsingy a must do, but maybe fly in), North east to Ampijora (excellent, but maybe drive there), and was very satisfied with all aspects. The drivers arrived timeously, could mostly speak english, and helped us wherever we were. The itineries were adapted to our specific requirements and the prices quite acceptable. Madegascar is a hard destination to plan. Benjamin offers you an accessible way to do it without going to the big tour companies that do not offer anything other than an doubling of the price. We very much enjoyed our three week tour of Madagascar in September 2006. Earlier in the year we had provided Benjamin with our "ideal itinerary" with a list of accommodations and National Parks that we wanted to visit and he did a splendid job in organising everything. Having a local agent in Madagascar to arrange things is very important as communications from outside Madagascar can be frustratingly slow and difficult if you do not speak French as we do not. Benjamin and our our driver greeted us on arrival at Tana in the early hours of the morning and after a briefing we were off! Everything went like clockwork and our drivers (Miza and Baba) were very knowledgeable and helpful. We can thoroughly recommend Benjamin to arrange a memorable tour of Madagascar. I can certainly recommend Benjamin and his staff if you are going to travel in Madagascar. He created a customized tour for us that was organized as we did not want to feel that we were on a package tour. I would not have been able to set up anything at all by phone from NIgeria where I live but he quickly turned around email correspondence and lived through my many changes of mind about what I wanted to do and see. It was a relief also to have all the hotels booked and park tickets purchased and to be able to pay for it all upfront by electronic transfer rather than carry all that cash on our persons. Next time I come to Madagascar to see the southern parts of the country I will definitely organize it through Benjamin.
