Day 2: antananarivo to andasibe national park.
After breakfast, we depart from Antananarivo at 8:00 am and begin our journey to Andasibe National Park. Along the way, we will make a stop at Reserve Peyrieras Madagascar Exotic, located in Marozevo, where you can discover a fascinating collection of Madagascar's unique wildlife. This reserve offers excellent opportunities for photography, as many species are easier to observe here than in the wild. The main highlights include Madagascar's incredible chameleons, such as the impressive giant Parsons'chameleons, tiny leaf chameleons, horned chameleons, and colourful panther chameleons. You will also have the chance to see leaf-tailed geckos (Uroplatus), famous for their extraordinary camouflage that allows them to blend perfectly with bark and dead leaves. Other wildlife encounters may include endemic frogs and amphibians, including the bright tomato frog, as well as snakes and crocodiles. In the surrounding forest area, it is sometimes possible to spot sifaka and brown lemurs, often providing excellent photo opportunities. Upon arrival in Andasibe, you will check into your bungalow and enjoy some time to relax while listening to the peaceful sounds of the forest. In the evening, we will head out for a night walk in Mitsinjo Reserve, one of the best wildlife experiences in the Andasibe area for observing Madagascar's fascinating nocturnal species. With the help of an experienced local guide, you may encounter Goodman's mouse lemur, eastern woolly lemurs, sleeping chameleons, and occasionally sportive lemurs or dwarf lemurs. The guides are highly skilled at spotting hidden creatures that are often invisible to untrained eyes, making this night walk a memorable introduction to Madagascar's unique wildlife.
- Hotel sahatandra. (Bed and breakfast are included)
day 3 : visit analamazaotra national park :
Today, explore the famous Analamazaotra National Park with an experienced local guide. This is one of the best places in Madagascar to observe wild lemurs, especially the legendary Indri indri, also known locally as Babakoto, meaning “father of Koto.” Listen to their powerful calls echoing through the rainforest as you discover this unique ecosystem. During your walk, you may encounter other lemur species such as brown lemurs and bamboo lemurs, along with colourful chameleons, frogs, orchids, giant rainforest trees, and a wide variety of bird species. The park offers excellent opportunities for wildlife observation and nature photography. In the afternoon, continue to Vakona Private Reserve and visit the famous Lemur Island. Here, you can observe close-up encounters with black-and-white ruffed lemurs, brown lemurs, bamboo lemurs, and Coquerel's sifaka, often called “dancing lemurs” because of their unique movements on the ground. The day ends with a short walk through nearby Andasibe villages, offering a wonderful complement to the national park experience. This visit allows you to discover the daily life and culture of local communities living in the heart of Madagascar's rainforest region — an experience that goes beyond wildlife alone.
