TOUR ROUTES :

TANA - ANTALAHA - CAMP EST - ANTANANDAVA - MARIVORANO - BEVONOTSIRA - AMPOKAFO - FIZONY - MAHALEVONA - MAROANTSETRA .

Day 1 : TANANARIVO – ANTALAHA . ( by flight ) .

Our Team in Tana will transfer you to the airport then you will fly from tana to antalaha . Once you arrive there, you will meet your personal guide with the sign of your full name and smile to transfer you to the hotel .

Free program , preparations with your personal guide and team porters . They will explain you much more details about the great treks over the briefing .

Day 2 : ANTALAHA TO CAP EST . ( by public transport ) .

Start the tour . Take a taxi brouss ( public transport ) from Antalaha to Cap Est after the morning breakfast .
The travel will take about 5 hours ride .
It's an importunity to find out how exactly the Malagasy people in those areas of Cap Est and masoala do their move and travel compared to the other parts of Madagascar .The evening meal and overnight stay will be in a small village .

Day 3 : CAP EST TO ANTANANDAVA . ( dugout canoe ride and start of the trek ) .

After the morning breakfast, the tour starts with the dugout canoe ride along the ONIVE RIVER till the small sahafary village . After the short rest and snack, the trek starts with all the team porters to Antanandava village .

Possibility to see : some sweet water birds such as kettle egret, king fischer, green backed heron , African cormorant and so on along the river .
Then before the evening meals comes, you can listen to and start to learn the porter's Malagasy song during the general preparations next to the fire places .

Day 4 : TREK FROM ANTANANDAVA TO MARIVORANO .

Great preparation of all languages : ( tents ,tourist's rucksacks,cook's utensils and general provisions ) after the morning breakfast .
Starts of the treks towards the masoala forest . Your guide is always ready to explain you all the important and usefully plants , trees of the area during the trek.From now on ,you will see so many kinds of forest birds of the area such as Blue coua ( coua caerulea ), crested coua ( coua cristata ) and so on ………….
Crossing stony streams and some rivers several times over the trek . The guide and the porters are used to help the tourist crossing the rivers if it's necessary . Snack at mid day during the rest .
Listing to the courageous porter's soft songs before the evening meals comes .

Day 5 : TREK FROM MARIVORANO TO BEVONITSIRA .

After the breakfast and the general preparation of the team, then start again the new day of the trek .
From here, you start to climb softly little by little, the mountain of bevonitsira where you can easily find out the bevonitsira waterfalls. You will still cross some stony rivers several times, and presence of the litches is always possible, only in this small area, if for example it's quite wet and rains in that rain forest. Snack at noon over the rest . The songs of the porters can be always heard during the evening meals preparation beside the fire places .

Day 6 : TREK FROM BEVONITSIRA TO AMPOKAFO .

After the morning breakfast, the trek starts to get down to ampokafo from where you will begin to see villages again. Be ready but some foot path are a bit muddy and slippery in this part when it rains .

Possibility to see the famous birds Helmet vanga ( euryceros prevostii ) and lemurs such as white fronted lemur ( eulemur fulvus albifrons ) around that corner .

Day 7 : TREK FROM AMPOKAFO TO FIZONY .

Preparation and departure to fizony after the morning breakfast .
From here, you can start to study how exactly the Malagasy people life in this area of masoala is; and your guide will explain you more details about it . Then you will have a chance to see some Malagasy main product plantations such as vanilla, coffee and cloves. Snack at about mid day .

Day 8 : TREK FROM FIZONY TO MAHALEVONA .

Preparation and departure to mahalevona after the breakfast. Snack at noon .

Day 9 : MAHALEVONA TO MAROANTSETRA . ( the end of the trek and dugout canoe ride )

After the morning breakfast, the final trek starts from mahalevona village till farankaraina. After the short rest and snack , the tour will be ended with a dugout canoe ride along the andranofotsy river till maroantsetra.

NB : please note that the maximum trek will take about 6 hours per day with your normal speed and you will have your own personal guide who has experienced more than 6 years in this fields and he speaks fluently english and french , a bit of german too .
